The Curse of Sleep Depravation

Have you ever tucked yourself in at night, ending up tossing and turning, eyes wide open and looking at the time left at your mobile phone’s alarm? Do you wake up every morning feeling more exhausted and tired?

We understand, and you are not crazy.

Surprisingly 1 in every 10 adults experience sleep deprivation, which is getting less than the needed amount of sleep, or in general the lack of quality sleep. For most, this is like a curse, a vicious cycle. It is like a ball-and-chain that they just learned to live through, not realizing that it is a problem and may have life threatening consequences in the long run.

This is not only prevalent in adults. Kids and teens may have been experiencing the same challenges which, may affect them long term and leave permanent damage not only in their physical well-being – but also with how they build relationships through changes in their behavior driven by mood swings and in their learning.

Sadly, most are experiencing sleep deprivation and they are not aware that they have been for the longest time. Some who may have realized they are experiencing this develops anxiety which may have an impact to their mental health.
